Holy Week Words II

St. Augustine’s prayer posted yesterday is a call to praise, worship, belief and joy in forces unseen greater than ourselves.  Holy Week, the week leading up to Easter, the day of Resurrection from death to life, from UN-seeing to seeing, from despair to joy, changes  absolutely everything.

I look at the work of the artists and their subjects below and I see both despair and worship. I see death of the soul and new life in gifts of creativity-coming through pain and confusion.

Do you have the eyes to see that through the Resurrection, all things cast down (once dead) are being renewed in your writing, art, photography, and poetry? Search out the inner minds and souls of the masters. From our Creating God comes order out of chaos, beauty out of ashes, life from dry bones.

On this day before Good Friday, contemplate Augustine’s prayer and think on these Holy Week Words.
